This has been a problem for years and here is the full story. Years ago they created my.secondlife.com as a web alternative to our viewer profiles to implement a few new features that could not be done in our viewers. Some people loved it, some never even knew it existed and for some it was more trouble than it was worth because the only way you could actually upload images to it was to use the default Linden Lab viewer which most users and resident's don't use and that's a different story for a different day. Hundreds of residents are fighting this problem still to this day. 3 or 4 years ago at a Linden townhall meeting one of the Lindens said the feature was going to be removed soon. Recently I submitted a ticket and the Linden that answered my ticket said "we no longer have access to any of that anymore. The best thing for you to do would be to submit a bug report." 

When I got to the bug report page there were several others there that already had bug reports done on this same subject so I added mine. If you would please, log in to your dashboard and upvote mine and any of the others you see concerning this, hopefully if we get enough people making a stink over this something may actually get done. The picture of me that is stuck there is 11 years old and the woman that took that photo has been dead for 9 years. This is crazy and as residents we should always have full control over our main profile image, this is our in world identity.

So my whole point is if the lab wants to keep this feature then fix it and make it work right, if it's going to be taken down anyway then GET IT DONE. It's been years we have fought this problem.
